BLUE JEM LOWLINES

The latest news from Emma Germany

Blue Jem Lowline Stud is now officially up and running with the arrival of our first stud females, Allambie Celine and Allambie Gracelands.

With the help of Tammy Breuer and her family we have started with some really top females that we think will really produce the goods.

Gracelands arrived with calf at foot, a little bull calf soon to be steered. His name is "Deli," short for Delicious.

And we have been really lucky that our first little heifer calf was born in June just in time to make her class at Sydney Royal next year. We woke one morning to find the tiniest little calf we have ever seen. (There's nothing like a long car trip to make a cow drop.) It was too cold and dark to stay outside but we checked that it was a heifer and went back inside so that Celine would clean her up.

About three hours later I went over to the paddock again and lifted her leg just to make sure I wasn't dreaming and sure enough four beautifully placed teats. As so many proud parents now do, I SMSed everyone who might care. Blue Jem Rose is about six weeks old now and boy can she run!
